What is a three-phase power line?
A three-phase power line is a wooden utility or telephone pole with three electric lines that run parallel to each other mounted at the top of a wooden pole. Properties with electricity will have either a three-phase or a single-phase power line. If you have a three-phase line near your property it might be a good fit for a solar program.
How do I identify a three-phase power line?
To determine if you have a three-phase or single-phase power line, head outside and look for wooden poles along the side of the road near your land or any poles that might cross your land. Be careful when approaching roads and always look out for vehicles.
Look at the top of the wooden pole, if you see a "T" bar at the top of wooden pole then you have a three-phase power line. The presence of a "T" bar indicates the difference between a single-phase and three-phase.
Another way to identify a three-phase power line is looking at the top of the wooden pole, and seeing if there are three (3) wires that run parallel to each other. The middle wire might be mounted slightly higher than the two on the side. There are some variances between different three-phase depending on your location, but the thing that will never change is three wires in parallel at the top of the pole.

You can ignore any wires below the ones at the top of the wooden pole as those are typically television or phone lines.
